Company History
BACKGROUND
Rubber-Seal Products has been in business since 1948. The Company originally worked with domestic car makers to design methods for repairing wind and water leaks that were performed at the dealerships. As the wind and water leak issue began to be addressed at the manufacturing level, Rubber-Seal refocused its product offering to create solutions to a wide variety of automotive problems. The company now offers top quality clearcoats, primers, activators, adhesives, sealants, abrasives, hardware, and many problem solving specialty tools under the Medallion Refinish and Medallion Repair System labels.
MISSION
Our mission is to create, manufacture, and sell products that maximize the appearance of repaired vehicles, maximize the production process, and maximize the profit of every repair for the shops and technicians we serve.
STRATEGY
Rubber-Seal Products accomplishes its mission by several means. We interact extensively with collision shop owners, managers, and technicians to discover hindrances they are experiencing in their pursuit of maximizing vehicle appearance, production, and profit. Our chemists and technical research people go to work to find and create solutions to the problems that are presented to us. In addition we seek not only to provide products that solve collision repair shop problems, but we then seek to provide these solutions at a reasonable price. We use only the finest quality ingredients in eveything we manufacture so our products produce a top quality finish. We keep our management and distribution structure efficient so that the ultimate customer is not paying for several layers of unnecessary managers, distributors, and salespeople. We do advertising that directly results in sales for the company instead of merely image based advertising. Our factory is equipped with modern machinery necessary to keep production costs at a minimum. Finally, we seek only to make a fair and reasonable profit.
DISTRIBUTION
Rubber-Seal Products gets its products to the collision repair shops by two means. One method we use is independent reps that call directly on collision repair shops. These reps demonstrate our products and write orders that are sent directly to the company. These orders are then boxed and shipped from one of our four company owned warehouses located in Dayton Ohio, Houston Texas, Cincinnati Ohio, and Atlanta Georgia. The other method of distribution we use are direct distributors. These distributors purchase the products from the company, warehouse them, deliver the products from their own warehouses and bill their customers directly. We also distribute on a jobber direct basis for our customers in 11 western states.

FUTURE OUTLOOK
While the collision repair industry is not growing itself, Rubber-Seal Products has continued to experience significant growth. Sales growth is coming from adding new areas (especially in the Western U.S. and internationally) where we have not had thorough distribution in the past. We currently service approximately 26,000 of the 60,000 automotive collision repair shops in the U.S. Collision repair shops have become increasingly favorable to using Medallion Refinish clear coats and primers because the collision shops are seeing that we build features and benefits into our products that are superior to competitive products. In addition, collision shops are seeking us out because of the exorbitant pricing of our competitors. Finally, our consistent development and introduction of new, problem-solving products enables us to continually increase our sales in existing customers, and it is constantly causing new customers to welcome us into their shops.
